Manager, Acquisitions & DivestituresSeattle, Washington
Position Specifications
Primary Function:
Principle duties include acquisition and divestiture project and due diligence management; valuation, comparative analysis, and presentation preparation; internal timber valuation of Real Estate properties; acquisition property sourcing; landowner relations; and special projects and appraisals. Completes advanced Discounted Cash Flow analysis and other timberland valuation methods with an understanding of how to incorporate other non-timber revenue streams (land sales, conservation easements and mineral income) into valuations.Understands the regional and local macro economic trends that affect timber and rural land values. Timberland appraisal knowledge and an understanding of the prevailing appraisal methods are necessary.
Establishes strong working relationships with executives, key department contacts, and third party consultants.Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry, Business, or related field. MBA strongly preferred.Experience:
Five to seven years of experience in forestry industry, minimum of three years experience in planning, budgeting, financial analysis, appraisal or inventory management. Experience with inventory and GIS tools, growth and yield modeling, and principles of accounting and finance.Specific Skills:
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint. Solid interpersonal skills, project management skills, communication skills and all facets of forestry knowledge are critical.Knowledge of Northwest, Northeast and North central timberland management, inventory, and growth and yield modeling. Familiarity with the current timberland ownership arena is a plus.
A general knowledge of REIT requirements and needs along with an understating of 1031 property exchanges is desired.Total Rewards
